Dallas Could Sweep The Best In The West | Golden Knights vs Stars | OSB
Vegas Golden Knights at Dallas Stars
By Sam Batz
On Saturday, April 8th the Dallas Stars take on the Vegas Golden Knights in a Western Conference battle on the eve of the Stanley Cup Playoffs (3:30 PM EST, ABC/ESPN+). Both the Stars and Knights are in the postseason but continue to battle for the top seed in their divisions. The Golden Knights lead the Stars by 6 points in the West, but it’s Dallas who is favored for Saturday. The Stars are priced at -136, while Golden Knights are the underdogs at +115. Dallas is 2-0-0 against Vegas this season and are playing for the sweep, while the Golden Knights will do their best to avoid that embarrassing fate.
Vegas Golden Knights Breakdown (+115)
The Vegas Golden Knights are leading both the Pacific and the West Conference with a record of 49-22-8 and 106 points. They won 7 of their last 10 and collected 16 points while doing it. The Knights are coming off a big win over their Division rivals, the Los Angeles Kings. They held LA off and beat them 5-2 in a statement victory that told everyone who runs the West. Vegas has failed to beat the Dallas Stars this season, but they are excellent on the road, winning 64.1% of the time.
Dallas Starsy Breakdown (-136)
Dallas is tied with the Colorado Avalanche at 100 points for the top spot in the Central Division. The Stars are 43-21-14 through 78 games with 4 matchups left to decide who wins the Division. Dallas clinched a spot in the postseason for the second consecutive season and are looking to make a deep run after getting bounced in the First Round last year. The Stars went 6-3-1 (13 pts) in their last 10 games and won back-to-back games with a combined goal differential of +7. Dallas has a goal differential of +20 over the Golden Knights and on Saturday, are favored to beat Vegas for the third time this season.

Golden Knights vs. Stars: Game Changers
Vegas Golden Knights
- Jack Eichel, Jonathan Marchessault, and Reilly Smith have all recorded 20+ goals this season
- From Defenders to Centers, the Golden Knights have 12 players in double-digit scoring figures
- Rookie Logan Thompson (Goaltender) has played the most games between the sticks (37) for Vegas this season but he has been ruled OUT. Adin Hill or Jonathan Quick will get the start on Saturday
Dallas Stars
- Jason Robertson leads the Stars with 103 points (45 goals, 58 assists), 7th most in the NHL
- Jake Oettinger leads all Dallas Goalies with 59 games played, he is 34-11-11 (T-4th) and averages 2.45 GA/G (8th)
- 41.8% of the Stars goals were provided by just three players: Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz, and Jamie Benn
Golden Knights vs. Stars Prediction
Take the Dallas Stars to win the game. They are undefeated against the Golden Knights, scoring 7 goals and allowing just 2 through 2 games. Dallas and Vegas are incredibly evenly matched, and both teams have clinched a spot in the playoffs, but are also each fighting for the top-spot in their respective division. Neither team will be okay losing on Saturday, not with the standings as close as they are, and will come ready to play. The Golden Knights are the top dogs in the West for a reason, but on Saturday, my bets on the Stars.
Prediction: Dallas Stars Moneyline (-136) and the Over (5.5)
