Dallas Stars at Seattle Kraken: Game 6 Analysis, Prediction, and Betting Tips

The Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Saturday, May 13th with a potential elimination on the table when the Dallas Stars take on the Seattle Kraken in Game 6 of the Conference Semifinals (7:00 PM EST, ESPN). Dallas leads the series with a 3-2 advantage over Seattle. After winning Game 5 5-2 on Thursday, the Stars have now won back-to-back games against the Kraken. In those 2 games (Games 4 & 5), Dallas recorded 11 goals and allowed just 5 against. Seattle on the other hand has been wildly inconsistent this series, and will enter Game 6 with the threat of elimination looming large. 

The Dallas Stars (-1.5; ML -136)

The Dallas Stars are -1.5 goal favorites, but Game 6 is a toss-up. According to FiveThirtyEight, Dallas and Seattle are both equally likely to win, with each side being given a 50% chance of victory. The Stars are averaging 3.82 goals per game in the playoffs, but against Seattle, Dallas is averaging 4.2 goals per game. Roope Hintz has been phenomenal for Dallas, recording 18 points (8 goals, 10 assists) in 11 games. Dallas has 4 players, including Hintz, in double-digit point figures and the Stars are streaking after winning the last 2 games over Seattle.

The Seattle Kraken (+1.5; ML +115)

Seattle made a statement this postseason, and even if they are eliminated on Saturday, the Kraken can be proud of what they’ve accomplished in their first ever Stanley Cup Playoff appearance. Seattle has a 17% chance to reach the Conference Finals, and will need to beat Dallas twice-in-a-row, which hasn’t happened once this postseason, meaning the Kraken need to defy insurmountable odds once again. I don’t see Seattle getting past Dallas, but they put in an incredible effort. Yanni Gourde leads the Kraken with 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) but it’s been a massive team effort in Seattle. They will need that depth to come through in Game 6, but with 18 different players recording at least 1 goal, and 19 different players with 2 or more points, the Kraken could be difficult to vanquish.

Stars vs. Kraken: Game 6 Prediction

Take the Dallas Stars to win Game 6 over Seattle, securing their spot in the Conference Finals. Dallas is rolling right now, and after scoring 11 goals in 2 games against the Kraken, the Stars will feel tremendously confident in their ability to win Game 6 and put this series to bed. Dallas will want to avoid a Game 7 at all costs, and they are gearing up to give it their all on Saturday. Seattle can’t afford another loss, and while I do believe Game 6 is going to be a closely fought, highly entertaining contest, I also think the Kraken don’t have what it takes to win a game of this magnitude. The Krakens’ inconsistency makes me weary, and in the last 2 games, Dallas played incredible hockey, which is why I’m going with the Stars to win Game 6.
