Can Rangers Maintain Home Ice Magic?
Tonight’s Conference matchup has been anything but predictable. Not many people had a 4 seed vs a 5 seed for the rights to represent their conference in the Championship. Now, maybe some people had the Lightning, who have won the last two years, but didn’t resemble the same team earlier on, but have rounded back into championship form.
The Rangers have been the comeback kings of these playoffs. They fell behind 3-1 to the Penguins in round one, and rattled off three straight wins to win the series in 7. The Hurricanes looked like the obstacle that would send them home in the second round, but the Rangers won game 7 dominantly by 4 goals after falling behind 2-0 in the series and then 3-2 as well. They have also been great in Madison Garden so far, only losing one of their 7 appearances there. The Rangers will keep it close after their huge momentum builder they experienced on Monday night in game 7 against Carolina.
