Dallas Stars at Seattle Kraken: Second Round, Game 4 Prediction and Betting Tips
By Sam Batz
The Stanley Cup Playoffs continue on Tuesday, May 9th when the Dallas Stars take on the Seattle Kraken in Game 4 of their Second Round series (6:30 PM PST, ESPN). The Kraken lead the series 2-1 after their 7-2 blowout victory in Game 3. It was an emphatic win for the underdog Kraken, who have been criminally underrated the entire postseason. The Stars will look to even the series and recover some of their dignity after an embarrassing Game 3 loss. Seattle, despiste their efforts, remain the underdogs in Game 4, while the Stars are expected to even the series before heading back to Dallas.
The Dallas Stars (-1.5; ML -136)
The Dallas Stars are 5-4 in the playoffs, and 2-2 on the road. The Stars finished the regular season 8 points ahead of Seattle, but just 1 more win than the Kraken, as Dallas garnered many more points from OTL’s. Coming into the current series, the Stars were heavily favored, but Seattle is making this a highly competitive series. Dallas looked flustered in Game 3 and never looked like much of a threat, especially after giving up 5 goals in the 2nd period. Roope Hintz, Tyler Seguin, and Joe Pavelski lead the Stars with 5 goals a piece, but unless their defenders and Goaltender can improve, Dallas could be looking at a 2-game deficit after Tuesday.
The Seattle Kraken (+1.5; ML +115)
The Seattle Kraken continue to impress in their first ever Stanley Cup Playoff appearance. The Kraken joined the NHL just last year, and made a big splash in their first postseason series by knocking out the reigning champion Colorado Avalanche in Round One. Seattle has been the underdog in every postseason matchup, yet they are 6-4 through 10 games. The Kraken have been much better on the road though, winning 66.7% of the time away from Seattle, and only 50.0% at home. It’s been a team effort for the Kraken, who have 19 players with at least 1 point and 17 players with at least 1 goal, and Seattle will need every player to be at top-form against a Dallas Stars side out for revenge.

Stars vs. Kraken: Game 4 Prediction
Take the Stars to win Game 4 on Tuesday. Seattle has a roster full of players capable of making an impact on the game, but after their one-sided Game 3 defeat, Dallas is looking to muzzle the Kraken. I don’t get the sense that the Stars are the type of team to take a 5-goal loss lightly, and I fully expect them to pepper Seattle’s goal early and often. Dallas has led in shots on goal in every game this series, and the Stars have been deadly on the power play, scoring 10 PP goals to Seattle’s 4 PP goals. The Kraken are averaging less than 3 goals against per game, but they haven’t always been at their best at home, winning just 48.7% of the time during the season, while Dallas was decent on the road, winning 60.9% of their away games. Both sides have been inconsistent in the playoffs, making this series difficult to predict, but the Stars have yet to lose two-games-in-a-row, and I don’t see that happening on Tuesday.
Prediction: Dallas Stars Moneyline (-136)
