The Atlanta Falcons travel to New York to play against the Jets at MetLife Stadium on August 22nd at 8:00 pm. This will be the second game both of these teams play in the preseason. Last week both of these teams won their games. In the Falcons game last week, they played the Detroit Lions and they won on a late touchdown by a final score of 27-23. The Jets found themselves in a close game against the Philadelphia Eagles last week. They won on a touchdown with 16 seconds left in the game and a final score of 24-21. Heading into this game, both of these teams will hope to find similar success and go into the final week of the preseason undefeated. During preseason, players are still fighting for a position on the final 52-man roster, so expect to see everyone at their best. Caesars Casino & Sportsbook has the match result odds at -150 Atlanta and +130 New York. Additionally, the over/under total points for the game is set at 38.5 with the over and under both being -110. New users will receive a Risk-Free Bet of up to $1500 on their first wager.

The New York Jets ended the first quarter last week in a state of distress after franchise quarterback Zach Wilson left the game with an injury. Wilson scrambled out of the pocket and appeared to hobble off the field after the play was over. Initial thoughts were that his injury involved his ACL as he was holding his knee as the medical staff attended to him. Thankfully, the injury was not as fatal as a season-ending ACL tear but it will keep him sidelined for 2 to 4 weeks. The Jets were losing by 14 at that point in the game and Wilson had an underwhelming performance up until his exit. Quarterback Mike White replaced Wilson and was able to have the offense score 10 points and have them only trailing by 4 points heading into the 4th quarter. White was replaced by Chris Streveler in the fourth quarter and he was able to throw for two passing touchdowns which gave the Jets the win. Now in this game against the Falcons, head coach Robert Saleh is torn between whether or not he should play his starters.

The Atlanta Falcons took care of business last week. They started the game with quarterback Marcus Mariota who was able to rush for a touchdown in his only offensive drive of the game. After he was taken out of the game, Desmond Ridder replaced him. Ridder rushed for 59 yards and threw for two touchdowns. He had a quarterback rating of 89 and was able to connect with Jared Bernhardt for the game-winning touchdown. The Falcons defense played an important role as they were able to force two turnovers. In this game against the Jets, it is unknown if the Falcons will play their starters.

In this game, I believe the Falcons will be the better team. I think Ridder will be too much for the Jets to contain and he can repeat the success he had last game. If the Jets decide to not play their starters out of fear of another injury happening, the Falcons defense will take advantage and have another impressive outing.

For our expert Atlanta Falcons vs New York Jets prediction take the over on the 38.5 total points scored in the game.
