Two Struggling Offenses Go Head-to-Head
If you told me the Cincinnati Bengals would be near the bottom of the league in total offensive production by week 4 I would have had you committed, yet here we are. The Bengals have the 3rd-fewest net yards (733) and average a lowly 15.3 points per game. Those numbers are shocking when you consider the talent the Bengals have at their disposal. Fortunately for Cincy, they face a Titans team who’s offensive production has been even worse. Tennessee relies heavily on Derrick Henry’s legs, but if the 29-year old RB can’t get it going, the Titans are dead in the water.
I like the Bengals in this one. Cincinnati’s run defense bottled up Rams RB Kyren Williams last week, and although Derrick Henry remains one of the best RB’s in the NFL, he’s not as explosive as he used to be and the Bengals aggressive linebackers will keep him in check. Titans QB Ryan Tannehill has been atrocious this year, throwing more interceptions (3) than touchdowns (1) in the first 3 games. Bengals QB Joe Burrow is still nursing a calf injury, but Burrow and his college teammate Ja’Marr Chase finally got it going last week, connecting for 12 receptions and 141 yards, and I expect that to continue against a Titans defense that’s allowed 275.3 passing yards per game.
So for our Bengals vs. Titans expert pick, take the Cincinnati Bengals Moneyline (-135) on Sunday.
