The Chiefs Get Their First Win
The Kansas City Chiefs are 1-1 but aren’t producing the type of football we’ve grown accustomed to seeing. The Chiefs are averaging 18.5 points per game, far below their 2022 average of 29.2. The offense has looked stale, uninspired, and too reliant on the arm of Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs got their first win of the season last week against the Jaguars, but it wasn’t because of the offense. KC’s defense didn’t allow a single touchdown, which ultimately won them the game in a matchup where the offense only scored 17 points. The Chiefs get a relatively easy opponent in Week 3, but unless the KC offense dials up the intensity, it could be a closer game than the odds suggest.
The Chicago Bears are 0-2, a disappointing start for a team that has a lot of promise. QB Justin Fields has been a shadow of the player he was last season, but Chicago’s defense has been atrocious. Per game, the Bears allow 32.5 points, 277.0 passing yards, and 106.0 rushing yards. Chicago’s defense also allows a 54.8% 3rd down conversion rate, the worst in the NFL. Kansas City’s offense has struggled, but against the Bears lackluster defense the Chiefs could turn things around.
So for our Bears vs. Chiefs expert pick, take the Kansas City Chiefs to Cover the Spread (-112) on Sunday.
