TEXANS VS. PACKERS ON SATURDAY NIGHT | PICKS AND PREDICTION | OSB
Tommy D. is going to break down this awesome game and give us his predictions and odds for today.
Texans vs. Packers on Saturday Night
The Houston Texans head to Wisconsin to face the Green Bay Packers on Saturday night. Now that we’re back to football the games are rolling! There are a couple of players we’re anxious to see on Saturday, including Aaron Rodgers. The question is, will he even take the field? This is a preseason game so guys like him usually sit these out. At the most, we’ll see a couple of drives from the Packers legend.
On the Houston side, we likely won’t be seeing Deshaun Watson. Watson is still dealing with legal trouble and his coach has declined to comment whether we’ll see him at all in preseason. The good news is they have Tyrod Taylor, who’ll likely see a sizable dosage from. It’s been a while since Taylor has taken the field so he’ll want to get his reps in. Between these two teams, we’ve got the best Texans vs Packers picks. Let’s go over each team before we give you our Texans vs Packers odds Prediction.
Taylor Could Be A Good Option For Houston
Per BetOnline, the Texans are getting +3 in this preseason matchup. We have to remember that Tyrod Taylor will likely be on the field much longer than Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers is the Packers prized possession right now so they can’t risk injury. Taylor on the other hand hasn’t taken the field in a long time since suffering a freak injury. He’ll likely want to put a quarter worth of work together to get back in the swing.
This gives the Houston Texans a chance to get a lead on the Packers. They also have four great running backs that won’t skip a beat throughout the game. Mark Ingram, Phillip Lindsey, David Johnson, and Rex Burkhead, all are talented players that can impact the game. This will give the Packers defense little to no respite.
Don’t Expect To See Rodgers For Long
The good news is, we’ll get a heavy dose of Jordan Love, the player they drafted to replace Rodgers. This game could be a great test to see how Love has developed over the last season. More importantly, if he’s actually ready to replace Rodgers. Green Bay lacks depth, which is why we believe that the Texans have the upper hand here.
If this was a regular-season game, it’d be a different story due to Rodgers playing a full game. However, we probably won’t see Rodgers after a single drive and at the most, two. This leaves us leaning more toward the Houston Texans in Saturday’s game.
Our Texans Vs Packers Pick!
With BetOnline giving the Texans +3 in this one, we’ll have to take Houston on Saturday. Houston has more depth in offensive positions that matter most. Unfortunately, Green Bay will have to rely on the third-team offense to score points, which we don’t see happening.
As we near the game, we look to give you the best Texans vs Packers picks today. That pick is the Houston Texans +3, due to Aaron Rodgers likely leaving after the first few drives.
