OK, let’s get to our Super Bowl Prop Expert Prediction.
In one of the more unlikely Super Bowl match-ups we’ve seen in years, the LA Rams will take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday in the biggest event of the sports betting calendar.
Think about it: Last year in his rookie season, Cinci QB Joe Burrow suffered a devastating knee injury and the Bengals finished with four wins, one year after going 2-14. Meanwhile, last year at this time, Matthew Stafford had just finished another losing season with the Lions, who went 5-11, one year after recording a 3-win season.
Yet, here we are this week, getting ready for a Stafford vs Burrow Super Bowl.
When looking at this match-up we really think these teams are a lot more even than this 4-point line suggests. They are both Number 4 seeds. They are both starting QBs with no Super Bowl experience and both offenses have a plethora of offensive weapons. Defensively, while the Rams defensive front can dominate games, the secondary is shaky. As for the Bengals, they have been very good against the run, but have been beaten by good passing games.
Put it all together and in a game where we think it’s really a toss-up, we are going to grab the points with the Bengals. In our mind, Cincinnati has been the more impressive team in the playoffs and in the later stages of the season, with two huge wins against the three-time defending AFC Champions Chiefs, including the comeback on the road in the AFC Championship Game.
Simply put, Burrow and the Bengals are a tough team to put away. They have covered six of their last seven games, with the lone non-cover coming in Week 18 when they rested their starters. Four of their seven losses this season were by 3 points or less, and they are also 5-0 ATS the last five games they were an underdog and 6-0 ATS in their last six games against winning teams.
Put it all together and for our Super Bowl Best Bet, let’s take the Bengals plus the points!
