A few weeks ago, things appeared to looking somewhat bleak for the New York Giants, as they had set a dubious standard of sorts by blowing double-digit fourth quarter leads in their first two games of the season. At that point they could have folded psychologically, but that just wasn’t the case. So after rallying for a couple of decisive wins, the Giants see a path to a division title as they go after their third consecutive victory against a team that is quite possibly on the fast track to oblivion. We are talking about the San Francisco 49ers, who will provide the opposition for the Sunday night NFL game that is slated to begin at 8:30 PM ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. So what kind of fight will they put up in New Jersey?

Everyone knew there was going to be something of a rebuilding job on San Francisco’s stop unit, which lost both starting cornerbacks from last year, along with the likes of Patrick Willis, Aldon Smith, Justin Smith and Chris Borland. They put the clamps on Adrian Peterson in the first week, but they were eaten alive by Ben Roethlisberger and Carson Palmer in the next two games. On the other side of the ball, the Niners haven’t fared much better.
