Struggled Against Terrible Defenses 

Geno Smith and the Seattle Seahawks take on Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on November 13 at 8:30 A.M. This is a huge game, and that is because this is the first NFL game that is taking place in Germany. The Buccaneers are the favorites in this game (-155) to the Seahawks, who are at +130. For the Buccaneers, it was a tough start to the season. At one point, they were at 3-5. Last game, the Buccaneers won 16-13 against the Los Angles Rams after a last-minute throwing touchdown from Tom Brady. Brady, over the off-season, stated he was retiring but later came out of retirement for another season. For Brady, he should have stayed in retirement as Brady has one of the worst years in his 23-year career. Brady has thrown for 2,547 yards, ten touchdowns, and one interception.

The offense is currently ranked 19th in the NFL with 331.8 yards per game, 271.7 coming through the air, and 60.7 yards per game. The Buccaneers continue to be a pass-heavy offense. Running Back Leonard Fournette had a solid start to the season but now, over the past three games, has been held to under 25 yards a game. The Buccaneer’s defense continues to be strong, ranking top ten in the NFL in yards per game with 331.8. Another thing this defense is good at is not letting teams score, as they have held seven of their nine opponents to under 22 points. One of Brady’s favorite targets, Russel Gage, continues to be out for this game with a hamstring injury. 

For the Seahawks, it has been about quarterback Geno Smith’s surprise play. Over the summer, the seahawks made the shocking move of trading Super Bowl MVP Russel Wilson away to Dever. This year the Seahawks were projected to be ranked 27 in the NFL, as they had many quarterback questions coming into the season. However, 32-year-old Geno Smith is filling the void of Wilson well. Geno Smith ranks 6th in the Nfl in yards thrown (2,199), along with 15 touchdown passes and a quarterback rating of 107.2, the highest ever in his career.

Smith has even seen recognition from Tom Brady because of his strong play this year. Another strong player for the Seahawks has been rookie Kenneth Walker who currently has 570 yards run and seven touchdowns on the season. Last time out, the Seahawks tallied another win, beating Arizona by a score of 31-21. The defense has been an issue for the Seahawks this season. On average, the Seahawks. They have given up 364.6 yards per game (24 in the NFL) and an average of 24.4 points allowed per game (25th in the NFL). A top defensive end for the Seahawks, Poona Ford, is currently listed as questionable for this game and has only played three games all season.

It is always tough to bet against the future hall of famer Tom Brady, but the buccaneers differ from when they won the Superbowl. The defense for Seattle can be seen as a liability, but the Buccaneers continue to be unable to move the ball. They have struggled against terrible defenses like the Pittsburgh Steelers (Ranked 28th in the NFL) and the Carolina Panthers (ranked 21st in the NFL).
