The Detroit Lions travel to Pennsylvania to play against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium on August 28th at 4:30 pm. This will be the final game both of these teams play in the preseason. Last year both of these teams met in the preseason and their game ended in a tie with a final score of 16-16. They also met in last year’s preseason game where the Steelers won by a final score of 26-20. Last week the Steelers won their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars by a final score of 16-15. The Lions won their game last week against the Indianapolis Colts by a final score of 27-26. As it is the last game of the preseason, the coaches need to submit their final 52-man roster so expect to see players playing their hardest trying to make the cut. If Pittsburgh wants to win this game, they need to do a better job of controlling the ball as they committed a turnover and gave up a safety against the Jaguars. 

The Detroit Lions head into this game with a preseason record of 1-1. They lost their first game against the Atlanta Falcons by a final score of 27-23. Heading into this game, head coach Dan Campbell has come out and said that the starters will play for the first half of the game but will not play quarterback Jared Goff, as he wants his players to be ready for the season but wants to limit any injuries from happening. In the Lions last game against the Colts, they were able to win on a last-second defensive stop. Quarterback Tim Boyle led the team in passing yards, having thrown for 99 yards and one touchdown while having a quarterback rating of 116.4. The Lions will be at a disadvantage in this game against the Steelers, as they will be without Goff. If the Lions want to win this game, they need their quarterbacks to do a better job of controlling the ball, as the Steelers have forced a turnover in each of their games. 

In this game, I think the Steelers will have the advantage as their quarterbacks are better than the Lions. They will be able to head into the regular season with an undefeated preseason record if they win this game. On top of that, this game will help the Steelers decide who will be their starting quarterback. Hopefully this time around, the game does not end in a tie and someone is able to walk away with a victory.
