Steelers Host 49ers in Season Opener

The Pittsburgh Steelers say they are ready for the challenge of opening their 2023 season against the favored San Francisco 49ers. The Niners are considered a top-5 team this season, mostly because of their incredible defense. SF has all-pro players at every level on their defense, from Nick Bosa on the defensive line, to Fred Warner leading the linebacking unit, to Talanoa Hufanga prowling the secondary, and Steelers second-year QB Kenny Pickett may not be ready to face such an imposing force. 

I like the 49ers in this one. They lost just 4 games last season, and are essentially the same team in 2023. The Steelers went 9-8 in 2022, and while Pittsburgh also has an impressive defensive front, led by the formidable T.J. Watt, their offense didn’t seem to improve much over the offseason, and San Fran’s top-ranked defense will tear them apart.
