Ok, let’s get to our Seattle vs LA Rams picks.
COVID-19 has hit the NFL hard over the last week. Tonight’s special Tuesday Night game was supposed to be played on Sunday but ended up being one of three games the league had to reschedule as a result of too many players being in COVID protocol.
The Rams are 9-4 and are coming off a big 30-23 win at Arizona on Monday night to pull within a game of NFC West lead and they managed to win that game on the road with five players in the NFL’s virus protocol, including All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey. Twenty more players were added to the team’s COVID list this week, which is why this game was rescheduled.
As for the Seahawks, they are still alive for a playoff berth after winning two games in a row to improve to 5-8 and as we tape this video, Pete Carroll’s team is one of only four teams in the NFL without a player in COVID protocol.
There have been two major factors that have led to the Seahawks turning things around with two-straight wins. First and most importantly, QB Russell Wilson came back way too early from his finger injury, but has finally looked like his old self the last two weeks. Secondly, the Seattle defense is also rounding into shape and playing much better, holding its last 8 opponents to 23 points or less, and that includes games against the high-powered offenses of Green Bay and Arizona.
With that said, we think this line tonight is a bit inflated so we’re going to grab the touchdown head start with the Seahawks. Seattle is always worth a look when catching points, covering 15 of their last 21 as a dog and 11 of their last 15 as a road underdog. The Rams, meanwhile, have covered just two of their last seven games overall and are just 1-6 ATS as a favorite, and, as mentioned, has been ravaged by COVID issues.
In the first meeting between these two teams on October 7, the Rams prevailed 26-17 in Seattle as 2-point favorite, but the stat sheet showed that it was a dead even game and we think these two teams are a lot closer to each other than this pointspread is telling us, so for our Tuesday Night Football best bet, let’s ride with the Seahawks, plus the 7 points.
