Getting to our picks on this game, we have a pick on the spread and a player prop for you guys. I think this is a bit of a trap line. The Pats have won 7 and are the two seed in the AFC and aren’t favored? I think the 2.5 is too small for the Colts here. The Colts will dominate the ground game with Jonathan Taylor.
We’ve already seen that the Colts can hang with the NFL’s elites as they were up three touchdowns on the Bucs before blowing it. There is a ridiculous amount of reverse line movement on this game. The patriots opened at -1 and are now +2.5 even though the public is hammering them. This obviously means the pros are all over the Colts here. The Colts are a desperate team and need a win to stay with the rest of the field in the playoff race. And to me, Mac Jones hasn’t proven anything yet. The Colts are ninth in points allowed per game, and the Pats are first.
This game will be won on the ground, and I am convinced the number one RB in the league, Jonathan Taylor will help the Colts do that. So take the Colts -2.5. For our prop, it is a sneaky one. Carson Wentz Over 9.5 rushing yards this week against the Pats.The Pats front 7 should get after Wentz which should force him out of the pocket and give him rushing opportunities. The Pats are 10th in sacks per game and will get after Wentz. He will be forced out of the pocket. He has covered this number in 5 of his last 7 and over those 7 he’s averaging more than 13 rush yards per game. This number should be around 14.
