BetAnySports Game Line: New York -3

BetAnySports Total Line: 42

The final Thursday night game of the 2016 NFL regular season features a NFC East tilt between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field. Kickoff is slated for 8:25 p.m. (ET) and this division matchup will be broadcast nationally on NBC.

New York at Philadelphia Game Preview

New York continues to make a strong push towards the postseason with a straight-up 8-1 record in its last nine games. Following Sunday’s crucial 17-6 victory at home against Detroit as four-point favorites, the Giants are 7-2 against the spread during this same span. The total stayed UNDER 42 against the Lions and it has now stayed UNDER in their last six games on BetAnySports’ closing line. New York is 5-3-1 ATS this season when closing as a favorite.

It has not been all that flashy with a combined 41 points in their last three games, but the Giants continue to do just enough on offense to win games. Eli Manning completed 20 of his 28 passing attempts for 201 yards and two touchdowns in this past Sunday’s win and they picked up another 114 yards on the ground. The real star of the game was New York’s defense after holding the Lions to 324 yards of total offense that resulted in just six points.

The Eagles came very close to ending its current losing streak, but a failed two-point conversion with time running out resulted in a 27-26 loss to Baltimore as five-point road favorites this past Sunday. The SU losing streak now stands at five games to drop Philadelphia to 5-9 SU on the year. The lone bright spot for bettors has been a 4-2 record ATS at home this season. The total went OVER BetAnySports; closing 41-point line against the Ravens and it has gone OVER in the Eagles last three games.

The gutsy call to try and win Sunday’s game was a bold move by first year head coach Doug Pederson, but the actual result is much more indicative of how his team has forgotten how to win games following a promising 4-2 start. Rookie quarterback Carson Wentz continues to struggle with consistency and the offense as a whole has struggled to put points on the board. The 26 points against the Ravens were the most this unit has put up since its stunning 34-3 victory against Pittsburgh in late September.
