NFL WEEK 15 PREVIEW AND PICK- OAKLAND AT SAN DIEGO

VietBet Game Line: Oakland -2.5

VietBet Total Line: 50.5

The 10-3 Oakland Raiders will look to keep pace in the AFC West Division title race this Sunday afternoon at Qualcomm Stadium when they tangle with the rival 5-8 San Diego Chargers. Game time is set for 4:25 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on CBS.

Oakland at San Diego Game Preview

Oakland comes into Week 15 of the NFL regular season tied with Kansas City for the lead in the division, but a 21-13 setback to the Chiefs last Thursday as a 3.5-point road underdog cost it the head-to-head tiebreaker. That loss also ended a straight-up six-game winning streak in which the Raiders covered against the spread in five of those victories. The total stayed UNDER VietBet’s closing 45.5-point line against Kansas City after going OVER in all six games of that recent run.

I would look for Oakland quarterback Derek Carr to have a much better outing this Sunday since he probably cannot play any worse than he did against the Chiefs. He ended that game with just 17 completions on 41 passing attempts for 117 yards. On the year, the Raiders are fifth in the NFL in passing yards and second in scoring with an average of 27.5 points a game. Defensively, they fall to 23rd in the league in points allowed (24.6).

San Diego fell to 5-8 SU on the year with a 7-6 record ATS following Sunday’s 28-16 loss to Carolina as a one-point road underdog with VietBet. The total stayed UNDER the 48.5-point closing line and it has stayed UNDER or ended as a PUSH in its last three games. The Chargers are an even 3-3 ATS at home this season and they have gone 4-3 ATS when closing as underdogs.

Phillip Rivers did not have his best day throwing the ball against the Panthers. He only managed to complete 21-of-39 attempts for 236 yards. He did toss two touchdowns to raise his total to 27 on the year, but he also threw three interceptions while getting sacked five times. The Chargers only managed to generate 278 yards of total offense in that loss as opposed to a season average of 360.8 yards a game that is 11th in the league. San Diego falls to 29th in the NFL when it comes to points allowed (26.7).

The first meeting this season went well OVER VietBet’s 50.5-point total line in Oakland’s 34-31 victory at home and I am betting that it goes OVER that very same total line this time as well. Look for both of these gunslingers to quickly return to form with big days throwing the ball.
