NFL FOOTBALL BETTING — MIAMI DOLPHINS AT NEW YORK JETS

By Charles Jay
The Miami Dolphins are right in the middle of a race for the last playoff spot in the AFC. And they feel as if they can get by with their backup quarterback having to assume the starting role. On Saturday night they will take the field against a division rival that has had its problems this season as they tackle the New York Jets in a game that begins at 8:25 PM ET. BetAnySports customers can get reduced juice before the game starts, and once it is underway they have an opportunity to get involved in placing wagers against the NFL football betting odds through the state-of-the-art software available from Live Betting Ultra.
The Dolphins had some drama last week as they took on the Arizona Cardinals and won on a field goal as time ran out. But they lost a quarterback, at least for the time being, when Ryan Tannehill went down with a sprained ACL and MCL. He should be out of the lineup for at least a couple of weeks, and in the meantime Matt Moore will be the starter. Moore, who last started an NFL game on New Year’s Day 2012, threw 16 touchdown passes with nine interceptions in his most extended action back in 2011.
For Miami, it will be important that Jay Ajayi gets loose. Ajayi, who had back-to-back 200-yard games earlier in the season but slowed down, gained just 48 yards last week, and the Dolphins haven’t topped 100 yards as a team in the last four games. But the Jets, who were very formidable during the early part of the schedule, have allowed at least 125 yards on the ground in four of their last five games.
In the NFL football betting odds posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, the Dolphins are road favorites:
Miami Dolphins -2.5 (-120)
New York Jets +2.5 (+100)
Over 38 points -110
Under 38 points -110
The Jets gave Bryce Petty his first NFL road start last week, and after throwing an interception on his first pass, he eventually settled down. They fell behind by 14 points to the San Francisco 49ers, but held the Niners scoreless in the second half, as Petty led the team on a few scoring drives. He found Robby Anderson for 99 yards in receptions, and completed 23 of 35 passes. It is the intention of coach Todd Bowles to continue starting Petty for the remaining games.
The other part of the story is that Petty suffered six sacks, so you’d have to say there are still some issues with his decision-making. Matt Forte is doubtful for this one with his knee injury, but Bilal Powell really emerged against San Francisco, running 29 times for 145 yards. BetAnySports patrons may know that the Jets are the worst team at converting red zone trips into touchdowns (just 41.5%).
Can the Jets get some pressure on Moore? This is a very legitimate question. Except for center Mike Pouncey, the Miami offensive line is intact, and while Tannehill has often had a problem with taking too long to make his decisions, Moore has less difficulty in that regard. And New York, after chalking up seven sacks in the season opener, against Cincinnati, have had just 15 sacks in the last twelve games. Moore might be looking primarily for Jarvis Landry, who has caught more passes in his first three NFL seasons than anyone else.
