NFL BETTING PREVIEW — SEATTLE SEAHAWKS AT GREEN BAY PACKERS

By Charles Jay
The Seattle Seahawks needed to come back from a awful performance, and did so last week against the Carolina Panthers. Now they take the trip east, minus one of their defensive stars, as they lace up the cleats against the Green Bay Packers, who are fighting to stay in the NFC playoff race. The game will get underway at 4:25 PM ET at Lambeau Field, and even after it begins, BetAnySports patrons have their chance to place wagers in real time, through the facilities of Live Betting Ultra.
The Packers may have been left for dead by some people after giving up 89 points over a period of two weeks against Tennessee and Washington, but they have done some good things the last couple of weeks in beating Philadelphia and Houston, the latter victory coming in rather bad weather.
Seattle routed Carolina 40-7 last Sunday night, but the price was high, as they lost Earl Thomas for the rest of the season with a broken leg. Thomas was dejected enough right after the injury to start hinting at retirement. Thomas had just come back into the lineup, along with cornerback DeShaun Shead and defensive end Michael Bennett. This is still a formidable group, although there is something of an unknown out there, as Steven Terrell, who is replacing Thomas, will likely be targeted in one way or the other by Aaron Rodgers.
In the NFL betting odds that have been posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, the Seahawks are laying a field goal at Lambeau:
Seattle Seahawks -3
Green Bay Packers +3
Over 46 points -110
Under 46 points -110
Russell Wilson has been running much better lately for the Seahawks, although he has been picked off three times in the last two games. What Seattle has to do, however, is have the rushing game moving with a lot more productivity. Right now the leading rusher for the Seahawks is Christine Michael, who is currently a member of the Packers. But Thomas Rawls, who has been in the process of coming back from a leg injury, offered some cause for optimism with 106 yards last week against the Panthers.
Meanwhile, Michael is being looked upon for at least a partial answer on the ground for Green Bay, which lost Eddie Lacy to an injury and hasn’t gotten much out of James Starks. But Ty Montgomery, normally a wide receiver, has seen some additional time in the Green Bay backfield; in fact, he was there on half the team’s offensive snaps, and his explosive speed is something for Seattle to worry about, and for BetAnySports patrons to consider.
You can expect Packer defensive coordinator Dom Capers to do everything he possibly can to get pressure on Wilson, taking advantage of potential weakness in Seattle’s pair of offensive tackles – Bradley Sowell and George Fant. But with Wilson more mobile now, you have to wonder how that will all turn out.
Rodgers has now thrown for more than 300 yards in four of his last seven games, with 19 touchdowns and just three interceptions over that period. Jordy Nelson, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, has come alive, with at least 90 yards in five of his last six games, after reaching that total only once in the first six.
