MINNESOTA VIKINGS AT CHICAGO BEARS 10/31 MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PICKS

On Halloween night, will the Chicago Bears be masquerading as a legitimate NFL team? Or will Jay Cutler be something of a different quarterback as he returns from an injury? Hmmm. We’ll see when the Bears get together with the Minnesota Vikings in the Monday night game that begins at 8:30 PM ET at Soldier Field in Chicago. This game, of course, will be televised live by ESPN, and if you are a BetAnySports customer, you can challenge the MNF odds as the game is happening, as you can access the state-of-the-art software available through Live Betting Ultra.

The Bears lost Jay Cutler to a thumb injury, leaving Brian Hoyer to be the starter. And Hoyer wasn’t bad at all, at least from the perspective of putting up impressive numbers. He threw six touchdown passes without an interception, and was only sacked four times against 200 attempts. So needless to say, he cut down on those “negative” plays. Let’s contrast that with Cutler, who has thrown 46 passes, but tossed two interceptions and was sacked no less than EIGHT times.

The Vikings have gotten decent service out of Sam Bradford, who stepped into a tough situation after the injury loss of Teddy Bridgewater and has been picked off just once in 166 attempts. Bradford has not had a very productive run game to work with, after the loss of Adrian Peterson, and he has also been playing without left tackle Matt Kalil. Of course, Minnesota has the kind of defense that can make up for a lot, and they are aggressive enough to give Cutler a particularly hard time.

In the Monday night football betting odds posted on this game by the folks at BetAnySports, you can see that the Vikings are favored on the road:

Minnesota Vikings -4.5
Chicago Bears +4.5

Over 40.5 points -110
Under 40.5 points -110

One of the things Minnesota coach Mike Zimmer has gotten very annoyed with is the play of the Vikings’ offensive line, which allowed Bradford to be sacked six times. And this might be something of a concern, because Vic Fangio is somewhat crafty when it comes to his defensive schemes. The Bears have made some strides this season with regard to slowing down the opponent’s rushing game, allowing just 3.9 yards per carry. The Vikings are just 31st in the league in offense.

Of course, if BetAnySports patrons want to take a look at the NFL stats, they will see that the Bears are 17th in the league in yards gained, which puts them around the middle, but they are last in points scored at 15.9 per game. And the Vikings have allowed fewer points per game than anybody. Does that make it a bad match for the Bears?

Yeah, it just might. Keep an eye on the Chicago injury situation, as they could be missing one or both of their Pro Bowl guards, Josh Sitton and Kyle Long. There is already a rookie center in Cody Whitehair. At least they might be able to say that another rookie, Jordan Howard, might be better than anyone the Vikings have to offer, especially if Jerick McKinnon, Minnesota’s top ground-gainer (217 yards) is not able to play after suffering an ankle injury.
