Two of the highest scoring teams in the league clash this Sunday afternoon for a trip to Super Bowl LI when the 12-6 Green Bay Packers square off against the 12-5 Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship. Kickoff from the Georgia Dome is set for 3:05 p.m.(ET) and the game will be broadcast nationally on FOX.

Green Bay at Atlanta Game Preview

The Packers have one more hurdle to clear to get back to their first Super Bowl since 2010 when they beat Pittsburgh. They took a really big step towards that goal this past Sunday with a thrilling 34-31 upset against Dallas as five-point road underdogs on VietBet’s closing line. Green Bay is now 8-0 straight-up in its last eight games while going a profitable 7-1 against the spread. The total has gone OVER in its last six games.

If Aaron Rodgers can continue to play at the high level he has demonstrated for most of his team’s current winning streak, the Packers are going to be tough to beat. After passing for 362 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-13 Wild Card Round rout of the New York Giants, he completed 28-of-43 passing attempts for 356 yards and two scores against Dallas to eliminate the NFC East from postseason play.

Atlanta has built of some momentum of its own coming into this conference tilt with a SU five-game winning streak while going 4-1 ATS. The Falcons easily covered as 6.5-point home favorites in last week’s 36-20 Divisional Round victory against Seattle. The total went OVER VietBet’s closing 51-point line in that game and it has now gone OVER in 15 of Atlanta’s 17 games this season. Despite the cover at home, it is still just 4-5 ATS at the Georgia Dome in nine previous home games this year.

Matt Ryan deserves a great deal of the credit for the Falcons’ success all season long. So much so, that he is the odds-on favorite to win league MVP honors this season (Rodgers is second on the list). In last Saturday’s win against the Seahawks, he completed 26-of-37 passing attempts to eight different players for 338 yards and three scores. Julio Jones was his top target with six receptions for 67 yards and while the All-Pro wide receiver did re-aggravate a nagging foot injury in that game, he is expected to be ready to go on Sunday.

These two offensive powers met in the regular season on Oct. 30 in Atlanta and the Falcons came away with a 33-32 victory as three-point favorites. VietBet set the total for that game at 51 points. While I am not sure which team does come out of this game with the SU win, I feel confident that the total is going OVER again even with the line set at 60 points this time around.
