DENVER BRONCOS AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS- NFL WEEK 16 PREVIEW AND PICK

BetAnySports Game Line: Kansas City -3.5

BetAnySports Total Line: 37.5

The Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs clash this Sunday night in a key matchup in the AFC West. Kickoff from Arrowhead Stadium is slated for 8:30 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on NBC.

Denver at Kansas City Game Preview

The Broncos’ playoff chances hang in the balance on Sunday night at 8-6 (straight-up and against the spread) following a 2-4 slide in their last six games. They are coming off back-to-back losses to Tennessee on the road and New England at home in which they managed to score a grand total of 13 points. The total at BetAnySports has stayed UNDER in four of their last five games.

A total lack of offense the past few weeks has left Denver ranked 24th in the league in yards per game (326.7) and 21st in scoring with an average of 21.4 points a game. Trevor Siemian put the ball up 40 times against the Patriots and even though he completed 25 attempts for 282 yards he could not find the end zone. To make matters worse, the Broncos ended that game with 58 yards on the ground.

Kansas City is also coming off a loss after a last-second 53-yard field goal proved to be the difference in a stunning 19-17 defeat to Tennessee as a six-point favorite at home. It was just the second loss in the Chiefs’ last 10 games and they have gone 6-4 ATS during this same span. The total stayed UNDER BetAnySports’ 42.5-point closing line against the Titans and it has stayed UNDER in eight of the Chiefs’ last 10 games. They come into this game with a 2-5 record ATS in their last seven games at home.

The Chiefs do not have the most electrifying offense in the league either with a passing game that is 22nd in the NFL complementing a ground game that is ranked 23rd in yards per game. Alex Smith continues to lead the way at quarterback with 2,994 yards passing and 12 touchdown throws while Spencer Ware has anchored the rushing attack with 860 yards and three touchdowns on 201 carries. This is another team that relies heavily on a defense that is eighth in the league in points allowed (19.6).

Denver at Kansas City Free Game Pick

It is easy to see why the total line has been set so low by BetAnySports, but I would still be tempted to go with the UNDER in this matchup. That being said, I have this as a three-point game either way so I will take the 3.5 points and Denver as my “best bet” pick.
