CINCINNATI BENGALS AT NEW YORK GIANTS 11/14 MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL PICKS

The New York Giants have won and covered three straight games, moving two games over the .500 mark in a very competitive division. On Monday night they will suit up for action against the Cincinnati Bengals in a game where either side will be penalized a great deal with a loss. This one kicks off at 8:30 PM ET at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, and BetAnySports customers will have the opportunity, even after the opening whistle, to place their wagers in real time using the state-of-the-art software available through Live Betting Ultra.

The Giants currently sit with a 5-3 record, but they are in a dogfight, as the Washington Redskins (5-3-1) and Philadelphia Eagles (5-4) are right there with them, behind the division-leading Dallas Cowboys (8-1). And as you can imagine, the wild-card race is very jammed up. The Giants, interestingly enough, had been doing this without a strong running game; in fact, they rank last in the league in rushing yards.

The Bengals have two very capable players in their backfield in Gio Bernard and Jeremy Hill, but they had been underachieving until the last two games, as Cincinnati has racked up 423 rushing yards. Andy Dalton has been sacked 25 times, but the good news is that he now has tight end Tyler Eifert, who is an incredibly valuable short-range outlet.

In the Monday night football odds posted on this game by the people at BetAnySports, it is a pick-em proposition:

Under 47.5 points -110

The Giants spent a lot of money in the off-season to improve the defense, which finished last in the National Football League in 2015. And they have been upgraded, for sure. There have been a lot of injuries in the secondary, but one of the new acquisitions certainly stands out. Janoris Jenkins is a Pro Bowl-level cover corner, and he’ll have a big assignment on Monday night as he takes on AJ Green, who leads the league with 59 catches and has almost 900 yards in connections with Dalton. One of the other New York defenders who has really risen to the occasion is safety Landon Collins, who will have Eifert as one of his responsibilities. Collins leads this team in sacks with three. That is a statement about how disappointing the front seven has been in getting to the passer.

The Giants will have to at least try to run the football, and they believe that rookie Paul Perkins has a high ceiling. But that has to fall into the “wait and see” category. BetAnySports patrons should know that they will be playing without guard Justin Pugh, which is a big loss on the offensive line. Victor Cruz, who has a sprained ankle, may or may not see action. But Odell Beckham has been very hot, with five touchdowns in the last four games.

Like New York, Cincinnati has not really been able to get to the passer enough this season, and Michael Johnson, who was counted on to put on a lot of quarterback pressure, has only 1.5 sacks. Defensive coordinator Paul Guenther has informed his unit that personnel changes are coming, and whether that has a psychological benefit remains to be seen.

The Bengals have not covered a game on the road in their last six tries, but they are a more well-rounded team on offense, with the defensive ability to at least turn the Giants into a one-dimensional squad, which, when you think about it, they already are.
