Mitchell Trubisky Gets The Start
In an underwhelming Thursday night matchup, the 7-5 Steelers will take on the 2-10 Patriots. The Steelers are favored to win, but Pittsburgh’s offense has struggled to move the ball, and they’re in for another down week with starting quarterback Kenny Pickett out with an injury. Steelers backup quarterback Mitchell Trubisky gets the start, and will look to lead Pittsburgh’s floundering offense against New England’s formidable defense.
SteelersMitchell Trubisky was the 2nd overall pick in 2017, but after 4 seasons with the Bears, Chicago let him go. Trubisky found himself a backup role in Buffalo last season, only to be released once again. The Steelers picked him up in 2022, and for a while Trubisky was Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback. He then lost the job to rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett, and Trubisky has been the Steelers backup ever since.
However, with Pickett out, Mitchell Trubisky is Pittsburgh’s starter once again. Trubisky’s player prop is O/U 181.5 passing yards, and I am going with the Under. Trubisky is not a good quarterback. He’s prone to turnovers, and against the Patriots suffocating pass rush, he’ll be under pressure all night. The Patriots have allowed just 2 touchdowns in the last 3 games, while the Steelers have gone under 17 points in 3-straight. I don’t see Mitchell Trubisky turning the Steelers stagnant offense around, especially against the New England Patriots on a short week.
So for our Patriots vs. Steelers expert prop pick, take the Under on Mitchell Trubisky’s 181.5 passing yards prop on Thursday. Click here to see the latest odds.
