The Las Vegas Raiders have been one of the big surprise teams of the young season, starting off 3-0 and tonight they hit the road to try and stay unbeaten against the Chargers, who are coming off a big upset win over the Chiefs in Kansas City last Sunday. The Raiders have had some success against the Bolts in recent years, covering three of the last four games in the series.
The Raiders are having success this season because of their offense. QB Derek Carr is a legit MVP Candidate and he led the league in passing yards after three weeks. But despite the fact that the Raider offense is humming right now, we think this total is way too inflated.
While LA QB Justin Herbert is getting all the press, the Chargers defense has very quietly carried this team. The “D” has yet to give up more than 24 points per game and that’s saying something since the last two weeks they have played the high-octane offenses of the Chiefs and Cowboys. Divisional games in Week 4 of the season always tend to go under the total and the Raiders have really been a great under play when on the road in divisional play, as 17 of their last 20 games in that situation have gone under the total.
