They’ve got a great backup behind Lawerence in C.J Beathard that went 13-16, 102 yards, and one touchdown.

Trevor Lawerence’s debut was overshadowed by the sack and fumble he suffered against the Browns. He’s likely itching to get back out there and prove himself to be a good choice as starting quarterback. The good news is he’ll face a formidable defense in the New Orleans Saints. If Lawerence is ready for the NFL, we’ll be able to tell on Monday night.

Where the Saints have a leg up here is in the form of a lot of depth at quarterback. Each of their four starters could likely be starting quarterbacks for other teams. Both Jameis Winston and Taysom Hill have stepped in for Drew Brees before he retired. Trevor Siemian was a starter for the Denver Broncos and Ian Book set records at Notre Dame.
