Geno Smith and the Seahawks Struggling Offense
Seattle’s quarterback Geno Smith has struggled to put together a complete performance in the past few weeks, and as a result, Smith’s Seahawks lost 3 games in the last 4 weeks. On the season, Geno is averaging 234.9 passing yards per game, but last week against the 49ers suffocating defense, he recorded a mediocre 180 yards, 1 interception, and 0 touchdowns. Geno and the Seahawks have lost back-to-back games, and unfortunately, Seattle isn’t expected to snap their losing streak against the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys are one of the hottest teams in the NFL right now, scoring 30+ points in 4 of their last 5 games, and holding opponents to just 16.8 points on the season.
Geno Smith’s passing yards prop is O/U 221.5 yards, and against Dallas’ intimidating defense, I’m going with the Under on Geno’s passing prop. The Cowboys are allowing the 2nd-fewest passing yards in the NFL this season (167.2). Dallas also loves to pressure the quarterback, which doesn’t bode well for Seattle, because Geno Smith doesn’t play well against the blitz. Last week, Smith was sacked 6 times, a season-high, and now faces a Dallas defense that’s averaging over 3 sacks per game, and ranks 1st in QB pressures and 3rd in QB hits. The Cowboys will wrangle the Seahawks lackluster offense, and Geno Smith will be running for his life all game.
So for our Seahawks vs. Cowboys expert prop pick, take the Under on Geno Smith’s 221.5 passing yards prop bet for Thursday nights matchup.
