Eagles Keep Their Perfect Season Alive

The Philadelphia Eagles remain perfect after narrowly beating the Washington Commanders 34-31 last week in overtime. The Eagles are one of two NFL teams with a 4-0 record, and will look to extend the winning streak against the 2-2 LA Rams. The Rams have won or lost every game by a single score (touchdown or field goal), and they’re in for yet another evenly matched fight as LA prepares to host the undefeated Eagles. 

The Eagles and Rams matchup nicely. Philly averages 392.0 net yards per game, while LA averages 392.8. The Eagles average 29.5 points and 22.5 points against, while the Rams average 24.5 points and 21.3 points against. Neither team is dealing with a significant injury, and in fact the Rams are expecting All-Pro WR Cooper Kupp to make his 2023 debut this Sunday.  

It will be a close game, but I like the Eagles in this one. Philly is obsessed with running the ball, averaging 165.3 rushing yards per game, and unfortunately for LA, their run defense is subpar. The Rams allow 111.0 rushing yards per game and have given up 5 touchdowns on the ground. With Kupp back on the field, the Rams get a much needed boost offensively, but LA’s defensive front won’t be able to stop Philly’s ground game.
