Defense is the Name of the Game

The Baltimore Ravens begin their postseason journey on Saturday against the Houston Texans. The Texans will attempt the upset, but the sportsbooks aren’t giving them much of a chance. Houston did upset Cleveland in convincing fashion, beating the Browns 45-14 in the Wild Card, but Baltimore is the best team in the NFL and it’s unlikely we see an upset here. Houston is a 9.5 point underdog, recording a 5-4 record as underdogs during the regular season, but the Texans improbable playoff run will likely come to an end.

The Ravens are heavily favored, but we’ve seen some crazy things this season. A Houston upset is not completely out of the question, so I would stay away from the moneylines. Instead, I recommend taking the Under on the 43.5 point O/U total. The Ravens have a great defense, allowing the fewest points against during the regular season (16.5 per game), but Houston’s defense has also looked strong, allowing just 12.0 points per game in their last 3 matchups. Odds say the Ravens are likely to win, but it’ll be a low scoring game.

So for our Texans vs. Ravens expert pick, take the Under (43.5) on Saturday.
