The Indianapolis Colts host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, September 25th at 1:00 pm. This game will be played at Lucas Oil Stadium and will be the third game both of these teams play. This will also be the first time that these two play against each other since 2019 when the Colts won on the road by a final score of 19-13. The Colts have tied the only game they have played at home and the Chiefs have a road record of 1-0. The odds for this game are currently set at -240 Kansas City, +196 Indianapolis, and the over/under is 50.5 according to Caesars Casino & Sportsbook. The Kansas City Chiefs head into this game with a record of 2-0 after a strong win at home against the Los Angeles Chargers. The final score of the game was 27-24 and the Chiefs did not look like they were supposed to win that game. They were struggling on offense in the first half and fell behind 17-7 in the third quarter. They were fortunate enough to have their defense intercept Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert for a 99-yard pick-six. The Chiefs had about 100 fewer total yards of offense compared to the chargers in that game and had 7 fewer minutes of possession. Chiefs quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, had a solid performance with 235 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire led the team in rushing with 74 yards on 8 carries. Pretty impressive performance. The Chiefs were fortunate to have won this game and did a great job at protecting the ball. Headed into this game against the Colts, they need to have a better offensive outing if they want to remain undefeated.

The Indianapolis Colts are struggling to start the season as they are 0-1-1. They are coming off a week where they lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road by a final score of 24-0. Quarterback Matt Ryan had an abysmal performance. He threw for 195 yards and 3 interceptions. He was also sacked 5 times and had a completion percentage of 53%. Colts running back Johnathon Taylor also struggled in this game as he had only 54 rushing yards and a reception for 9 yards. To give the benefit of the doubt to the Colts, they were missing their number one wide receiver in Michael Pittman Jr. and his absence definitely affected the play of Ryan and the running game for the Colts. The Colts were supposed to be a team that could make a deep playoff run but after back-to-back weeks of disappointing results, it’s hard to imagine them winning the division. This may be an overreaction but only time will tell. Fortunately for Indianapolis, they get Pittman back in this game against the Chiefs.

I think this game will be important for both of these teams as it can help them assess a lot of problems they have. The Colts will be able to properly assess their team when healthy in this one against a great opponent. The Chiefs can use this game to find their week 1 form and go back to dominating games with their offensive attack. One thing is for sure, both of these teams will score points.
