All right, welcome back everyone, Tommy D, here it is. Monday, January 3. Hope everyone had a great New Year’s. This is our first podcast of the new year that the edge and we’re going to be going over a lot of interesting things that happened over the weekend. And we’re going to be covering ball game coming up tomorrow. And we’re going to be looking at some NBA and college basketball, we are going to be dealing with a lot of basketball moving forward. Of course football is going to be on main focus here. But MBA and college hoops there’s a lot of value in that. And we’re going to be looking at a couple of key games for Tuesday. Man it couldn’t have gotten any better I don’t even know if I want to give out place today. I’m scared I mean after going five and oh between the first and second.

Now you’re asking me to come back on here. I mean, putting a lot of pressure on me but I’m ready man I feel good about what’s going on right now. There’s a lot of advantages out there I think on these betting numbers you know I’m a numbers guy that’s what I’m famous for. You know, I look for numbers I look for advantages to give myself and my players the Edge doesn’t mean it’s always gonna work out it doesn’t always work out. But at the end of the day, you’ve got to have an edge it’s like playing the stock market. If you’re buying a stock that’s 180 and everyone got it at 170 You know you’re behind the eight ball a little so we try to look for the advantages make things happen. Had a great New Year’s Day.

Winning those games came back big time yesterday my best bet Cincinnati I just love the way that game positioned itself to be And matter of fact, when we gave it out the line was five it went down to three and a half it still didn’t matter Cincinnati got the job done and won the game outright. So that worked out really well for us. And you know just make it some good calls guys. That’s what it’s about. And we’re ready to hit these games today.

Well, we’re going to look at a couple of games like I said there’s there’s actually two college bowl games left. We’re going to be looking at tomorrow’s game Tuesday’s game the tax test, isn’t it that game little now. You know the tax act Texas ball I don’t but you know, you got two teams basically 500 finished for the year. But you know, we’re gonna we’ll look at that one and we’re gonna get into some basketball. The big news yesterday. You know, a lot of people are making jokes about it, but you know, a B had a meltdown. And listen, there’s a couple of ways to look at that. The guy’s no doubt a very talented football bettor, but he has, he has issues this guy and my man Tom Brady went to bat for this guy like nobody else to get him to play for that team. It’s almost embarrassing to Brady as much as embarrassment. Brown was to himself a be it’s almost embarrassing to Tom Brady because Tom Brady was the one the catalyst behind this guy wanted him that that second chance in those 30 chances. And this guy, I don’t know, I don’t know what what he was good for a while. And all of a sudden, yesterday you saw, just like I did my own two eyes I thought was I didn’t know if the pants will come down next. It could have been a strip show out there at the end.

Well, you know, I think the guy has obviously some mental issues there and you got to wish the guy the best. I mean, will will he play it? Will he play again in the NFL that that might be his last straw. I couldn’t imagine a team bringing him on board. But you know, he has millions of dollars. So I’m sure he’ll be fine. But let’s let’s move on. You know, you got this college ball game, the morrow Tax Act, Texas ball. You got you got Kansas that opened up as a dog. Now they’re the favorites, six and a half over LSU 47 and a half. These are two teams that probably shouldn’t really even be in a bowl game. But it’s got so commercialized that I guess everyone’s just looking for the revenue in here. But what what’s your take Scott on this Kansas,

I actually I actually got a call like, two hours ago, if I if I wanted to suit up for LSU. They’re looking for like anybody to come in and play for them, though. They’re like, the team is like, decimated and then I’ve been playing on the anybody. I mean, here’s a team. I mean, yeah, I get it that you know, the coaches gone. They have an interim coach for the game. But that there’s so many players that are not even playing suiting up for them in this game. I think maybe you and I could get in there and get a little airtime. But now let’s get serious here.

LSU said, I don’t think that desperate, but but go ahead.

You never know man. Desperate things happen out there. LSU, six and six this year coming off two straight ending the season with two straight wins. But they got hauled anyone playing in this game. I mean, Kansas state’s a good program.

They’re solid, they’re consistent program. You know, they went seven and five this year. I mean, to be honest with you, there’s some factors in here that look great.

But when you don’t have the players, you can’t even match them up to make them look great. Here’s, for example, LSU, there’s six and over the last six against the big 12 conference pretty impressive five and on neutral site games in the last five games. But here’s the key. There’s a lot of players out of the lineup. Now here’s Kansas State, for example 401, a neutral site games, but they’re three and eight against the spread in the last 11 ballgames. This line is moved nine and a half points, people, nine and a half points, it went from two and a half minus to now excuse me, plus for Kansas State to minus seven, as we’re speaking doing this show live right now. So bottom line is that’s a nine and a half point swing.

Obviously the reason why is because half the team’s out, you know, I can’t touch a game like this, to be honest with you. But Kansas State I think has the as the program that can match up with a team like LSU. But LSU is dominated the big 12. So I’m spinning my wheels here, trying to figure this one out, I’m going to put a light play on this game, just for the reason. And again, this is about as light is cream cheese can be real light, I want you to just take a small play on the favorite in the game. Again, there’s some factors in the game that just don’t normally have will not touch this type of situation. But in this situation, we’re all these players out Kansas State I think is definitely the strongest team. I don’t think seven points is going to matter. I keep the line about six, you can buy numbers, which are famous for doing a Biden number down to minus six. I think Kansas State wins the game by a good 10 to 14 points if they’re right. And I think they’ll be right against a team like LSU that’s kind of thrown in the towel with all these players out.

Well, well said this isn’t a game that you really got. You’re not going to put a lot on a game like this. Maybe you just want to have a little fun. It anything’s possible in a game like this at this point given Saturday, any given Sunday, anything. Exactly. I mean, Kansas is probably the right side, it all depends. Do they show up and take the game seriously? If they do, they’ll probably cover the six points. But all right, well, we’ll see what happens on that one. And our private service games have been doing outstanding numbers. As I said, I didn’t want 2021 to end. But you know what, when you start out with a bang in 2022, maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.

All right, take exactly you could check them out on on Instagram. We’re gonna move on to our first basketball selections for the year. We’re going to be looking at this LSU Kentucky game. It doesn’t get better marquee matchup than that. And then we’re going to be looking at an NBA game on Tuesday. Cavs vers Grizzlies, which one do you want to start with first, Scott?

You know what, let’s go with college basketball. That’s a sport I’ve always done extremely well with you got two programs here. I mean, Coach cow for Kentucky, he finds the studs like no one else out there. Over the years, he’s had a tremendous winning program and a lot of talented players. He has the same this year. And you got coach Wade for LSU. He’s got a good program, obviously, they were 12. And over the first 12 games, they played their first conference game the other day against Auburn, who was obviously a powerhouse team as well, in the SEC, and they did lose the game. So you got 11 A to Kentucky with a lot of studs against a really good LSU team, who’s 12 and one, I think the line in this game is probably going to be a short number. And you know, obviously, but I got this vibe based on what I see in matchups and the way I do things, I think they’re gonna make this number law we the way whoever they make, we don’t have an exact number as right now. But I think this game is going to be a tight game. And I like Kentucky, for the simple reason. They had one road game, they’re going into a tough place to play. Don’t get me wrong, this LSU tiger team is real. I mean, they’ve always had a solid program for the last several years. But I just think Kentucky is coming into this game, they’re going to mindset is going to be one thing, one thing only, let’s get the job done. And somehow someway, they’re going to find a way to get the job done. So I like Kentucky in this game, I think they’re probably going to be a plus, if I had to guess I think that may be a plus one and a half, maybe plus two, but I’m not sure at this point that the number but I like Kentucky plus the points in this game as a good solid play. I think they’re going to take advantage of some things. Again LSU lost their first conference game. And I think Kentucky’s gonna come in right. And they’re going to take advantage of some mistakes and make the game work for them. So take a Tukey guys, I think you’re going to get plus a little bit of points in this one. So you go with the wildcards a Wildcats really counts Coach Cal gets these teams ready for these big games. And with these young players, they find ways to play in these hostile places. And this is about as hostile as it gets as they can play the Tigers in their building. But I think they find a way to get the job done.

All right, very nice. We’re gonna be looking at an NBA game Tuesday night. Cleveland Memphis. No line on this game at this point either. But what what’s your take Scott calves Grizzlies.

This is what makes it exciting, man. It’s like putting a blindfold on you. You got no line, you got to come up with solutions. You got to create numbers. You know, it’s it makes it a little more exciting. You know what I mean? It’s not like it’s like handicapping and then saw. So this game. I’ll tell you what, two teams very surprising. I mean Cleveland with a winning record. 21 and 16. Playing well at home with a winning record against a really good team in Memphis with John Moran. This guy is the real deal. I love watching him play. He’s an exciting player.

He gets his troops he gets these troops rallied behind them. They got a winning record on the road twice. I believe that record right now if I’m not mistaken, I might be wrong on this is 23 and 14. Overall, they’re up there nine games up I believe over 500 so far for the season. But to make a long story short, this Cleveland team has a lot of firepower. They got some young talent in them mixed in with some veterans like Kevin Love, and players like that. And Kevin Love gets hot from the outside for a big man. Wow, this guy can get like on a roll and start firing threes and nailing them, you know, in addition to his inside game, but when he hits from the outside, it opens up a whole different transition for that team. But I got to think the way Memphis is playing right now. They won four straight games in a row. Cleveland’s been up and down of late. They played well for a stretch recently, but the last few games have been up and down. I think they’re gonna have a hard time against this Memphis team. I’m going to take Memphis in this game. I think Memphis again is going to be a small dawg, they might be as many as three to four points in this game. Again, we’re trying to gather as much information we’re doing these shows a little in advance. But the bottom line is I like Memphis is a live blog in this game. I think they have firepower right now they won four in a row. And as well as Cleveland’s playing, I just think they’re gonna it’s gonna be a hot, hot time to handle Mr. Moran. When he’s hot. He’s tough, and they get the job done.

Alright, well, we’ll have to see how that all works out. Now what we normally do at towards the end of every podcast, we put out a best bet. It doesn’t have to be any of the games that we covet. Scott, it could be a game later in the week, you could even go out as far as NFL over the weekend. But if you had to put out a best bet at this point, who would it be?

Best bet? Well, I tell you what, you’re really putting a lot of pressure you want me to go real all the way till it’s the weekend already. But money’s money. If whenever you think we’re gonna have it, we’re gonna have a week a TV show coming up during the week. But if you want to put something out right now, earlier in the week that someone could sink their teeth into Oh, would it be I’m gonna stay I’m gonna stick with what I think makes sense to me. And I think the number of based on my logic and my, my mind here, I’m thinking that this Kentucky team is going to be a small dog and I think they’re going to go in there and get a get the job done. I just think that they’ve got some talented players. I think they’ll match up against LSU LSU as a tough team, like I said, and they’re going to pressure them all night long. But I think the pressure Kentucky’s going to lay on them is going to come back to haunt LSU a little bit so I’m going to take Kentucky plus I think it’s gonna be a small number. They might be two and a half, you know, somewhere three points on this game, but I like Kentucky. I think that would be my best bet over those games we talked about. Alright, so Kentucky is your best bet just surprises Tommy later in the week. I’ll tell you

Oh, well. We’re gonna we’re gonna have a show midweek on Wednesday, where we’re going to be covering some more basketball some early football. But just to recap, Kansas state minus to six you could buy it down to six. Very, very light.

Very light play. Exactly. Wildcats and college hoops and you like you like the Grizzlies and an MBA and your best bet is you said the Kentucky Wildcats.
