Matchup: Green Bay Packers vs. San Francisco 49ers

The NFL playoffs have reached the Divisional Round, and on Saturday night the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers will duke it out for a shot at the Super Bowl. The Packers are coming off an incredible upset victory over Dallas, crushing the Cowboys 48-32 in Green Bay’s highest scoring game of the season. The 49ers secured the No. 1 seed in the NFC, and got to sit back and watch as the divisional round unfolded. San Francisco will be well rested entering Saturday’s matchup, while the Packers will be confident after their unlikely Wild Card victory. The 49ers are heavily favored over the Packers, but so were the Cowboys, and I can’t wait to see how this one plays out.

Packers vs. 49ers: Best Player Prop

Christian McCaffrey, 49ers RB; Prop Bet: O/U 92.5 rushing yards

Prediction: Over (-115)

This year’s rushing leader was 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey. He recorded 1,459 yards on the ground, recording 14 rushing touchdowns, tacking on another 564 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. In total, that’s 2,023 total yards and 21 total touchdowns, rightfully putting Christian McCaffrey in the MVP conversation. The numbers alone are impressive, but what I love about this prop bet is the matchup. McCaffrey obviously plays a huge role for the Niners offense, and on Saturday CMC will face a Packers defense that’s been vulnerable to the run, allowing 128.3 rushing yards per game. McCaffrey is in line for a huge game, so take the over on his 92.5 rushing yard prop bet.

Packers vs. 49ers Game Predictions

The Packers pulled off an incredible upset last week against the Cowboys, but they won’t do it again. Take the San Francisco 49ers to win this one. The Packers won’t be blown out, so you can take Green Bay to cover the spread, but they won’t be able to keep the Niners off the scoreboard. San Francisco has one of the best offenses I’ve ever seen, with playmakers at every level. We talked about Christian McCaffrey (see player prop), but San Fran also has WR Deebo Samuel (892 yards), WR Brandon Aiyuk (1,3242 yards), and TE George Kittle (1,020 yards) catching the ball, LT Trent Williams on the line, and QB Brock Purdy running the show.

Green Bay’s QB Jordan Love put in a brilliant performance against the Cowboys, recording 272 yards and 3 touchdowns, but the Packers won because of their running game. RB Aaron Jones secured 118 yards and 3 touchdowns last week, but will be hard pressed to repeat that performance against the 49ers. San Francisco has one of the best run defenses in the NFL, allowing just 89.7 rushing yards per game during the regular season. The Packers won’t be able to move the ball on the ground, and the game will come down to Jordan Love’s arm. Love will have a decent game, but he’s not good enough to keep up with the 49ers offense, and San Francisco will advance.

Moneyline Pick: San Francisco 49ers (-440)

ATS Pick: Green Bay Packers (+9.5)

O/U Pick: Over (50.5)

Score: Packers 24; 49ers 30
