Ok, let’s get to our Nfl Predictions for Thursday Night Football.
A few weeks ago, the Browns vs Broncos 2021 game had the makings of a clash between two of the better teams in the league, but instead both teams are limping into to tonight’s game, both literally and figuratively. The Browns started the season 3-1, with the only loss at KC in Week 1, but come into this game on a two-game losing streak and their defense has been lit up in the last two weeks in losses to the Chargers and Cardinals. Not only that, but the team has a number of key injuries, especially on offense where QB Baker Mayfield is battling a shoulder injury and they may take the field tonight without their top two running backs and two starting offensive linemen.
Meanwhile, things aren’t much better for the Broncos, who started 3-0 against a soft schedule, but have since lost three games in a row to Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Las Vegas. The linebacking corps for Denver are battling a number of injuries so this a team that is really licking its wounds right now.
Having said all of that, we really think the oddsmaker has overreacted and has adjusted this total down way too far. At some books this over/under opened at 45 and since they’ve adjusted it all the way down to 41, we’re going to swoop in and play the over. Denver still has some impressive defensive stats for the season, but a lot of those numbers were compiled when they played three of the worst teams and offenses in the league – the Giants, Jags and Jets — in the first three weeks of the season and they are going to really miss a couple of key linebackers tonight.
As for the Brownies, Cleveland home games have averaged 46.5 points per game over the last three seasons and Cleveland has gone 10-3 to the over in its last 13 games following a game in which they lost by double digits.
Bottom line, in today’s offensive-minded NFL, 41 points is way too low and one defensive score can really change the tenor of the game. So, for our Browns vs Broncos predictions we are going to play the over.
