Bills Clash With Bengals In AFC Showdown | Bills vs Bengals | OSB
Bills vs. Bengals: Prediction & Player Props
By Sam Batz
The Buffalo Bills (buffalobills.com/) will travel to Cincinnati on Monday, Jan. 2nd to take on the Bengals (bengals.com/) in a highly anticipated AFC showdown. Both the Bills and the Bengals have clinched a spot in the playoffs but still have something to play for. The Bills can keep the No. 1 seed in the AFC secured with a win, while the Bengals can clinch the AFC North with a victory on Monday. Momentum is a huge factor as always and Buffalo and Cincinnati will certainly look to continue their winning streaks, and get a massive boost by beating a top ranked opponent.
Buffalo enters Monday’s matchup with a 12-3 record having already clinched the division. They have won six games in a row and are one of the best offenses in the league, averaging 402.3 yards per game and 28.0 points. They are led by 2022 MVP candidate Josh Allen, who has thrown for 4,029 yards, ran for 746, and has 39 total touchdowns. He is a beast on the field, regularly bulling through defenders and launching deep balls with a cannon he calls an arm. Buffalo’s defense is no joke either. They have the lowest points against total in the AFC and rank among the top seven defenses in total yards allowed per game with 317.7. The Bills will look to prove they are the best team in the AFC on Monday, and extend their winning streak to seven straight games.
The Bengals are 11-4 and could clinch their division with a win, and a Ravens loss. Last year’s Super Bowl hopefuls have won their last seven games, which is currently the longest streak in the AFC. They will look to make it eight against conference rivals, the Buffalo Bills, behind their star quarterback Joe Burrow and sensational wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase. Burrow has been on fire recently, averaging 275.9 passing yards per game during the Bengals winning streak. The third-year quarterback has combined for 39 touchdowns, tied with his Monday night opponent Josh Allen. The Cincinnati offense ranks among the top-seven in the league, but their defense has failed to keep up. The Bengals have struggled against the pass, allowing 225.9 passing yards per game to the opposition, and on Monday night, go up against one of the best passers of 2022.

Player Props
Joe Burrow, Bengals QB, Over 1.5 Touchdown Passes
Burrow ranks second amongst all quarterbacks in total yards and touchdown passes with 4,260 and 34 respectively. He has played extremely well this season, throwing for over 200 yards in all but one game. Additionally, he has thrown for multiple touchdowns in all but four games. However, he faces a tough Buffalo pass defense that averages just 17.5 points allowed. Regardless, Burrow has the weapons on the outside to go for a huge game under the prime time lights on Monday.
Ja’Marr Chase, Bengals WR, Over 80.5 Receiving Yards
Chase missed four games for the Bengals because of an injury, and yet, the outstanding second-year receiver is still leading his team in targets and receptions. The LSU connection Chase and Burrow share is clear to see. Chase is averaging 87.3 receiving yards per game and has eclipsed the 100+ yard mark four times. On Monday, the speedy wideout goes up against one of the best secondaries in the league, led by all-pro cornerback Tre’Davious White. The Bills are allowing 160.3 yards per game to opposing receivers, and as the top guy in a potent Cincinnati offense, Chase should see plenty of attention from the defense. I expect this game to be a high scoring, fast-paced contest, meaning the Bengals will throw the ball a lot. Chase will have plenty of opportunities to see the ball and I fully expect him to go over his 80.5 receiving yards prop.
Josh Allen, Bills QB, Over 260.5 Passing Yards
Josh Allen is arguably the best quarterback in the league. He has combined for 4,775 total yards in 2022, using both his arm and legs to lead his side to their third straight AFC East title. The Bills have clinched a playoff berth, but are battling the Chiefs for the No. 1 seed. Allen will be used as much as possible in order to keep that top spot secured. The Bills throw 57% of the time, and even when Allen can’t find a receiver, he simply takes it himself using his remarkable speed and agility for someone his size. Allen is averaging 268.6 passing yards per game and faces a Bengals defense who is allowing 225.9 yards through the air. The game script will favor the passing game and Allen will have plenty of chances to find his talented receivers for a big game on Monday night. I predict Josh Allen will go over his 260.5 passing yards prop.
