Panthers vs. Bears: Best Player Prop
Bryce Young, Panthers QB, Over 214.5 Passing Yards (-115)
Carolina’s rookie quarterback Bryce Young has gone through some serious growing pains in his first year as an NFL QB. This year’s first overall draft pick is averaging 196.4 yards per game, is completing 63.9% of his passes, and has a touchdown to interception ratio of 8:7. He threw 3 interceptions last week, has thrown multiple touchdowns just once, and has been sacked 26 times. It’s been a rough season in Carolina, but if Young has a breakout game this season, it’s going to be against the Chicago Bears.
Chicago’s defense is one of the worst in the NFL. They’re allowing 256.9 passing yards per contest, and have given up 20 passing touchdowns in just 9 games. That’s 2.2 passing touchdowns per game. The Bears defense has just 10 sacks, 6 interceptions, and is allowing a 70.2% completion rate to opposing quarterbacks. The Panthers rookie QB has a golden opportunity to have a breakout performance here, and he’ll take full advantage.
Take the over on Bryce Young’s 214.5 passing yards prop. This bet is priced at -115, which means you can risk $115 to win $100, for a total payout of $215, if Bryce Young records at least 215 passing yards.
Panthers vs. Bears Game Predictions
I’m going with the Carolina Panthers to win the game over the Chicago Bears this Thursday. Both teams have struggled all season, but that doesn’t mean they won’t play each other well. These are arguably the two worst teams in the NFL, which means it will likely be a close game. I have the Panthers winning by 3 points, which means you’d win if you took Caroliona’s moneyline (+140), or for them to cover the spread (3.5).
I just have no faith in the Bears defense. Chicago is allowing 336.6 total yards and 26.9 points per game. Bears QB Justin Fields is unlikely to suit up, leaving it to rookie QB Tyler Bagent to lead the Chicago passing attack against a Carolina defense that’s allowing the 5th-fewest passing yards per game (178.3). Carolina QB Bryce Young has a good chance to finally break 250 passing yards, as he’s facing a Chicago defense that rarely pressures the quarterback, has the fewest sacks in the NFL, and is widely considered one of the worst defenses in football. In the end, it’ll be the Carolina Panthers walking away with a road win in Soldier Field on Thursday.
Pick Moneyline: Carolina Panthers (+140)
Pick ATS: Carolina Panthers (+3.5)
Pick O/U: Over (38.5)
Prediction: Panthers 24; Bears 21
