The field of 68 for the Big Dance gets underway on Tuesday and Wednesday Night with the First Four Games and then Madness really kicks on Thursday and Friday with 32 first round games.

Ok, let’s get to our March Madness picks against spread.

At the top of the NCAA bracket stands Gonzaga, which, as expected earned the overall Number 1 seed, playing out of the West Region. This marks the fifth time the Zags have earned a No. 1 seed under head coach Mark Few and joining Gonzaga as Number 1 seeds are Arizona in the South Region, Kansas in the Midwest Region and the defending champion Baylor Bears in the East Region.

When the pointspreads for the first round march madness picks came out last night we had a number of games really jump out at us and one of those was Murray State against San Francisco.

We’ve been watching this Murray State team for the last few weeks, hoping they would get a favorable match-up in the first round and the committee did just that as we really like the seventh-seeded Racers plus 2.5 points over San Fran in a game that will be played on Thursday night at 10 p.m. Eastern Time in Indianapolis.

Murray State has been on fire and they enter the Big Dance winners if 18 in a row. In fact, the last time they lost a game was way back on December 22nd when they got beat by top-seeded Auburn.

Not only are the Racers playing as well as any team in the country, but this is a great match-up as the team ranks in the top 20 in the nation in defending the three pointer and the Dons offense depends a lot on hoisting the long ball.

In addition, Murray State has a huge coaching advantage. This will be the third appearance in the Big Dance for Murray State under head coach Matt McMahon while the Dons have zero experience in the NCAA tournament as this will be their first appearance since 1998.

San Fran was also a money-eating 11-16 against the spread as a favorite this year and they also went just 4-10 at the betting window when playing non conference foes.
