Both teams come into this game in opposite trajections. The Sooners, who are 14-13 overall and 4-10 on Big 12 games, are on a three-game losing streak following a 75-54 loss to Iowa State. This all sums up to them being only half a game ahead of West Virginia for last place in their conference. The Red Raiders on the other hand are currently ranked number 9 and are 21-6 overall including being 10-4 in Big 12 games. They are on a streak of their own but it is a three-game winning streak following a 61-55 win over No. 20 Texas.

 

One thing to note of this game is that in these two teams’ last matchup on February 9, Oklahoma won with the final score of 70-55. If you look at that, that becomes kind of a scare factor in betting this game but do not worry. That game score doesn’t tell the whole story. In that game Oklahoma dominated the boards which shouldn’t happen since Texas Tech’s average team height is 6’6 which ranks 22nd in the entire country for average height. Since that game, Texas Tech has ranked 20th in rebounding margin per game while Oklahoma has ranked 173rd. 

 

Another anomaly in the first game between these two squads was the explosion of Sooners guard Umoja Gibson who dropped 30 points in that game but has a season average of 12 points per game. 

 

Expect the number 9 ranked Red Raiders to enter the contest with a game plan that consists of crashing the boards and locking down Umoja.
