It’s been a roller coaster of a season for Rutgers this year, but right now the Scarlet Knights are riding a major high as they come into tonight’s game fresh off a 84-63 pounding of then-Number-13-ranked Michigan State as a 2.5-point home underdog.

Rutgers will try to ride the momentum of that upset tonight as they get a visit from the Buckeyes, who have had a light schedule as of late, but have won four of the last five games they have played.

The big match-up in this game will be the high-scoring offense of Ohio State against the stingy defense of Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights allow just 64.8 points per game, second-best in the Big 10, but OSU counters with an offense that averages 75.6 points per game and they are also one of the best shooting teams in the country, and that’s where we expect the Buckeyes to have an edge. Rutgers defense is keyed by its physical low post play, but OSU can not only rebound the ball just as well, but they should be able to take advantage of a Scarlet Knight perimeter defense that ranks 240th in the country in defending the 3-pointer.

Rutgers is due for a major letdown after the big win over the weekend where everything went right for them, while the well-rested Buckeyes are not afraid of playing in hostile environments, as seen by their 13-6 ATS road record in their last 19 games against teams with winning home records.
