Ok, let’s get to our Kent St vs Central Michigan picks.
Tonight’s game is a key MAC battle between two teams who are playing very good football right now. Visiting Kent State is 5-4 overall, but 4-1 in the MAC standings and after winning their last two games over Northern Illinois and Ohio, the Golden Flashes are in position to punch a ticket to the MAC Championship Game.
As for Central Michigan, the Chippewas have won three of their last four games to improve to 5-4 overall and they are seeking one more win to become bowl eligible.
While Kent State is playing for a spot in the MAC Championship Game, this is a team that has really struggled away from home over the years, especially when facing quality foes. The Flashes are not only 1-5 ATS in their last six road games, but dating back even further they have only covered three of their last 17 games when playing on the road against an opponent with a winning record.
This is also a bad match-up for Kent State, which loves to run the ball, but will be facing a Central Michigan defense that is limited opponents to just 3.8 yards per carry, which ranks them third in the MAC and 38th nationally. We also love the match-up of the big-play Central Michigan offense going up against a Kent State defense that is last in the MAC in total yards allowed and will have trouble stopping a Chippewas offense that ranks 20th in the nation in passing yards per game.
