OK, let’s get to our Kansas vs Texas prediction.
Big Monday features a huge Big 12 clash tonight as the Number 10 ranked Kansas Jayhawks head to Texas to square off against the Number 23 ranked Longhorns.
Kansas is 19-3, has won seven of its last eight games and is coming off an impressive 24-point rout of defending champion Baylor on Saturday in which they were laying just 1.5 points.
After losing two out of three games in early January, Texas has rebounded to win three of its last four to improve to 17-6 overall.
The Longhorns are at their best when they dig in and play tough defense, as seen by their 17-0 record this season when holding opponents to 60 points or less, but that is going to be a problem tonight against a Jayhawks team that is on a roll right now and ranks 12th in the nation in scoring with 80 points per game.
This line has the Longhorns listed as a slight favorite because of their strong home court that has seen them win 14 of their 15 games on this floor this season. But a closer look at the numbers shows that Texas is just 3-11 ATS at home in its last 14 games against winning teams, which means they aren’t nearly as dominant against quality opponents.
What’s more, the road team in this Big 12 series has covered 12 of the last 15 meetings so the Jayhawks have had success here in Austin in front of the Longhorn fans and won’t be fazed by the crowd tonight.
This looks to be a bargain price, getting Kansas as an underdog, so let’s take those points tonight and bet the Jayhawks to come home from Texas with the win.
