The Baylor Bears are the defending NCAA Champions, but one their way to winning the title last year they did not win the Big 12 tournament so they will be looking to check that off their list this weekend, beginning tonight against the Sooners.

Baylor is 26-5, ranked third in the country and the Number 2 seed in the Big 12 tournament, behind top-ranked Kansas, but they do come in riding a five-game winning streak that included a win over the Jayhawks. 

Oklahoma also comes into tonight’s quarterfinals with some momentum. After losing four in a row, Oklahoma won its last three regular season games to earn a first round bye in the tourney and the Number 7 seed.

Baylor won both of the two regular season meetings between these two teams and both wins were by double digits. Not only did the Bears dominate the two games but the wins were accomplished playing completely different styles as Baylor scored 84 points in one of the wins and then was held to 65 points in the second meeting, which was a defensive struggle.

In addition, the Bears dominated both the offensive and defensive glass in both games, so it’s clear to us that this is simply a bad match-up for the Sooners.

Baylor is on a 15-5 ATS run in neutral site games while Oklahoma has historically struggled in their conference tourney and they are just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games away from home against winning teams.
