The winner of tonight’s Georgetown vs Seton Hall basketball first round match-up will advance to Thursday’s second round and face the Number 18th ranked UConn Huskies.

Seton Hall comes in riding a 5-game winning streak so the Big East tournament is serving as a tune-up for the Big Dance. Even if the Pirates get upset tonight, with a 20-9 straight up record, the team is pretty much guaranteed a spot in the field of 68. That’s not the case, however, for Georgetown, which has had a disastrous season under head coach Patrick Ewing and comes into tonight’s game with a dismal 6-24 straight up record.

Even still, the Hoyas battled Seton Hall hard the two times the teams met this season. The Pirates won both games, but those victories were not impressive as they won the two games by a total of just 12 points.

What sticks out for us when we look back at those two games is that they both went under the total and we are expecting a similar type of game tonight.

Seton Hall has been a dead-nuts under team when they are laying points, going under in 27 of their last 37 games as a favorite, and that includes a 6-2 under record in tournament games.
