You can be sure Kansas will be in a foul mood come tip off tonight as they enter off just their second loss of the season – a 75-67 setback at Texas Tech on Saturday – to drop to 12-2 overall.
As for Iowa State, the Cyclones also come into tonight’s game in the midst of a little funk. After ripping off 12 straight wins to start the season, ISU has lost two of its last three games to fall to 13-2. But a look inside the numbers tell us that the recent skid is not a surprise as the Cyclones built that 12-0 record to start the season against a very weak schedule of opponents and once they started playing the quality teams in the Big 12 they have gone 1-2 both straight up and against the spread.
Things do not get any easier tonight for Iowa State as they take on a Jayhawks team that has certainly been tested, playing the 14th most-difficult schedule in the nation.
