Today’s battle between the Tigers and the Aggies is a match-up of two teams with identical 6-2 records who both are still alive to punch a ticket to the SEC Championship. In fact, Auburn has destiny in its own hand because if they can win out, they win the SEC West.
Since getting drilled by top-ranked Georgia, 34-10, back on October 9, Auburn has put together back-to-back upsets, with wins over Arkansas and Ole Miss. Texas A&M comes in on a three-game winning streak, which includes their monumental upset of Alabama three weeks ago as an 18.5-point favorite. The key to the Aggies success has been a defense that is giving up just 16 points per game, which ranks them Number 3 in the country and the team has been especially good against the pass, ranking 9th in the country in yards per pass allowed.
We think the defense will lead the team to another decisive win today. We love the fact that the Aggies had last week off, which means they’ve had two weeks to prepare for QB Bo Nix and the Auburn offense, which will struggle throwing the ball. You also have to think that Auburn’s gas tank is on near empty after pulling off upset wins in its last two games.
