OK, let’s get to our Missouri vs Army Selection.

The opening line on this game had the Cadets as a 3.5 point favorite but since the match-up was announced there has been a slew of bad news for Missouri.

For the defense, this was probably the last team the Tigers wanted to face since Missouri ranks 125th out of 130 college teams in defending the run and now they have to line up against Army’s triple option attack that leads the nation in time of possession and averages 286 rushing yards per game, second-best in the nation.

The news isn’t much better on the offensive side of the ball for the Tigers as their Number 1 running back Tyler Badie decided to opt out of the game since he is entering the NFL draft. The team will be also be sending out QB Brady Cook to make his first career start, after Connor Bazelak decided not to play the position anymore after a very subpar season.

Adding more fuel to the fire is the fact that Missouri has covered just eight of its last 29 games overall and will be facing an Army team that is pissed off about being upset in its annual game with Navy a few weeks ago. The Cadets will also be super motivated to win the Armed Forces Bowl and is expected to have a built-in home field advantage with most of the crowd rooting for the Cadets as the Missouri fans will not be traveling three days before Christmas to watch a Tigers team that underachieved all season.

Typically we would hate to bet on a number that has risen three points like this, but for all of the reasons we just stated, I really think that this number has not been adjusted enough and Army is going to win this game by double-digits. So for our Armed Forces Bowl Best Bet, let’s lay the 6.5 points with Army.
