Ok, let’s get to our Alabama vs Arkansas predictions.
Despite an upset loss to Texas A&M last month, Alabama is still in the hunt for a playoff berth and a chance to repeat as National Champions. With a win today, the Tide punches a ticket to the SEC Championship Game against Georgia and if this game is anything like the most recent meetings with Arkansas, Alabama should cruise.
The Hogs have lost 14 in a row to Alabama and in the last four years the games haven’t been close, with the Tide winning by an average of 39 points per game. In fact, in the last two meetings Alabama has won by a combined score of 100-10. But this year’s Arkansas team is much improved. The Hogs have won three in a row and are ranked Number 21 in the nation. Having said that, we can’t get Arkansas’ game earlier this year against Georgia out of our heads.
The Hogs entered that game 4-0 and as a 16.5 point underdog and there was talk that this was the year that Arkansas would break through and compete with the Big Boys of the SEC. Instead, Georgia absolutely dominated. Arkansas looked like it didn’t belong on the same field and lost 37-0. Since that blowout loss, the Hogs have covered just one of their last five games.
As for Alabama, they are an absolute freight train right now and we aren’t going to step in front of them. Since the loss to A&M, the Tide has covered three out of four games as a double-digit dog and has averaged 45 points per game in the process. Bama is 12-3 ATS in its last 15 games as a home favorite and they know full well that they may need some style points to get into the Final Four so if they have a chance to bury Arkansas by a wide margin, they will do so.
