Ok, let’s get to our Free College Basketball Picks.
Due to a prescheduled bye week and a canceled game last week because of COVID, number 22 ranked Xavier will have had 17 days off when they hit the court at Hinkle Fieldhouse tonight against Butler. Previous to that extended break, the Musketeers charged out to an 11-2 record while covering nine of their last 12 games, although they lost the last game they played back on December 21 when UConn ran them out of the gym in a 71-58 blowout.
As for Butler, the team is off to a 8-5 start but what’s most concerning about the record is that it has come against just the 90th most difficult schedule of opponents. Two of their victories came against non-Division 1 teams and three others came against teams with a combined record of 7-32.
The Bulldogs are on a 3-7 skid against the spread and we think they fail to cash in again tonight against a well-rested Xavier team that will most certainly remember the last time they played Butler, who pulled off the 70-69 upset last March.
Butler ranks a dismal 324th in the country in scoring, averaging just 60.4 points per game and will be facing a Xavier defense that ranks in the top 20 in the country in defending two-point field goals and opponent field goal percentage.
This pointspread is way too short so for our NCAA Basketball Xavier vs Butler picks, let’s take Xavier minus the points on the road.
