Warriors Capitalize

Once again, Game 2 of this series had everything fans were looking for in a playoff matchup. From Curry and Poole combining for 47, to Ja having 47 of his own, this game was crazy from start to finish. But no point of the game had more importance to it than the dirty play made by Memphis Grizzlies’ guard Dillon Brooks on the head of Gary Payton II of the Warriors. While nobody can question the intent of such an action, it truly was a scary play that left Gary Payton with a broken elbow, and got Brooks kicked from the game and suspended this game as well.

This will be a huge loss for Memphis as they will lose not only their second leading scorer at 18.4 points per game, but also quite possibly their best defender. He has been having a relatively down postseason, only averaging 13.4 points per game, but considering that just one season ago he averaged 25.7 points in the playoffs, it’s safe to say that he can get hot offensively at any moment and doesn’t shy away from the bright lights. This is a huge loss for Memphis, and Golden State will be looking for revenge for GP2 in front of a home crowd at Oracle Arena.
