Trail Blazers Scoring Struggles Continue
The Portland Trail Blazers are dead last when it comes to scoring. Portland is averaging 104.8 points per game putting them not only last in the West, but last in the entire league. The Blazers are 5-12 as a result of their lack of offense, and won just 2 of their last 10 games. Portland is missing some key players, most notably Anfernee Simons, but the Blazers young lineup still has some maturing to do in order to be considered contenders. Portland will face Eastern Conference hopefuls, the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs are 10-8, and after a slow start, they have won back-to-back games, as well as 7 of their last 10.
Cleveland beat Portland 109-95 two weeks ago, and enter tomorrow’s contest heavily favored to beat Portland, but I’m taking the Trail Blazers to cover the spread (+11). Cleveland is 3-7 against the spread at home this season, while the Blazers are 6-4 against the spread on the road. Portland has covered in 3-straight games, and have a solid chance to continue that streak. The Cavaliers average 109.7 points at home, while the Blazers are close behind, averaging 106.8 points on the road. Portland has a lot of momentum after a massive win over the Indiana Pacers on Monday, and while the Blazers may not win the game, they’ll keep it close against the Cavaliers.
So for our Trail Blazers vs. Cavaliers expert pick, take the Trail Blazers to cover the spread (+11) on Thursday.
