Timberwolves Need a Bounce Back Performance
The Minnesota Timberwolves will take on the Brooklyn Nets tomorrow night in Brooklyn. The Nets are 10-11 at home, while the Wolves are 13-9 on the road. Brooklyn is the underdog here, as they are 11th in the East, while Minnesota is tied for 1st in the West. Both sides are coming off back-to-back losses, but it’s the Timberwolves who have a shot at a bounce back performance. Minnesota and Brooklyn both hover around 113 points per game, but the Timberwolves have set themselves apart defensively, allowing the fewest points per game in the NBA (107.8).
I’m going with Minnsota in this one. The point spread has the T-Wolves favored by 4-points, and I think Minnesota will cover. The Timberwolves are coming off a tough loss to the Hornets, where Karl-Anthony Towns scored a whopping 62-points, but didn’t get much help from his teammates. Anthony Edwards, who averages 25.5 points per game, had just 9 points against the Hornets, but I’m expecting a big game from him tomorrow. Any time Edwards scores less than 10-points, he averages 33-points the following game. The Nets middling defense will have a hard time stopping Edwards, while Minnesota’s top-ranked defense will keep Brooklyn in check.
So for our Timberwolves vs. Nets expert pick, take the Timberwolves to Cover (-4.0) on Thursday.
